So why the name ‘Thin Gate?’
There’s a couple of reasons, actually. Though I’d say the most important one comes here…
Matthew 7:13-14 — “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.” (NKJV)
‘Thin Gate’ is a reminder that the way to life requires work on our part, and it’s something we should never take lightly. We need to inspect our lives on a daily basis, as we remove the ‘fat’ of this world to stay in that narrow (‘thin’) gate. I like this think of it as the biblical weight-loss program — for the inner man.
For me, this fitness test comes in many forms; all of which are surrounded by pursuing the truth. Whether that’s the truth of biblical history, prophecy, or even the Hebraic names. These are just a few of the topics that fascinate me, and this site is a way for me to share what I’ve learned.
The second reason for ‘Thin Gate’..?
… is due to my fascination with the biblical calendar, and it’s influence over creation. From Genesis to Revelation, the sabbaths to the feast days, the calendar found in scripture is central to it all. But did you know that none of it would be possible without gates? The book of Enoch tells us that the sun and moon travel through heavenly gates. Without them, I imagine that time as we know it would cease to exist.
So yes, gates are important. And staying in the thin gate — even more so.
Though if you’re wondering who’s behind the “Thin Gate,” it’s just one guy with a laptop (and some cinnamon coffee). You can call me Daniel, and I’m so happy you’re here.
